I have lived here in Eastbourne for 39 years, the last 20 in Sovereign Harbour. I have three grown up children, all of whom were educated in Eastbourne, and five grandchildren. I am married to Paul, a Chartered Accountant.
We both worked for AXA PPP in project management positions for several years, until our joint retirement in 2013. Previously I was a director in the family bookshop in the town centre.
Born in Leicestershire, I attended Lutterworth Grammar School. In 1967 I studied Medical Laboratory Sciences at Leicester Polytechnic on day release for the Public Health Laboratory Service.
I subsequently held technical positions at English Electric and GEC Marconi Radar before moving to Eastbourne.
I will work tirelessly to represent the residents of Sovereign Ward. I am particularly interested in ensuring that the original harbour plan is realised, with accessible open space and sympathetic development.
It is also highly important that we support an infrastructure in which small businesses can develop and flourish thus providing much needed employment for our bright young people.
I have always thought Eastbourne to be a wonderful place to live, and would like to have the opportunity to help shape its future.
